Had some trouble on our accommodation booking website with your plugin. It's necessary, because we are using the k2 sidebar manager, and worked fine until today. I couldn't enable any plugin - white screen appearing at every click of the admin screen when after activating - I came out of this unhappy situation disabling the plugin Disable Wordpress Widgets, enable all the other plugins, and then enable again Disable Wordpress Widgets.
Now everything works right. Hope this can help if you ever find yourself stuck in the very same situation!

I'm using SBM Reloaded with WP 2.6. Thanks for your plug that allows that to happen.

However, it's also messing up the WP Admin Dashboard where I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: register_sidebar() in /home/montlive/public_html/new/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 13

Is there a workaround for this? I much prefer SBM Reloaded to the widget system in 2.5+. It allows unlimited text widgets, php, etc.

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.

hi! i have a problem. i recently upgraded from wp 2.2. to wp 2.3.1 and installed k2 c3. initially i am able to use the sbm but then all of sudden it jsut shows the loading word. i tried installing your plugin and then suprisingly, the sbm works again. but after some time while im customizing my blog, i got the error again for jsut seeing the loading word when i click sbm. i tried deactivting your plugin and activating it again but still the same. got an idea what my problem is? thanks

Hi Darrell, and thanks for this plugin. I have a Disable WordPress Widgets-related problem with my site, hope you can shed some light.

My site used to be heavily based on Sidebar Modules, with K2 using 3 Column K2 V. 0.9.5.2 (by Bharath Kumar) as current style. As SM began to crash under WordPress 2.1 (see below), I have recently upgraded to WordPress 2.2 and also installed the Disable WordPress Widgets plugin in order for SM to work properly. Unlike upon a previous WP 2.2 install without a subsequent DWW plugin install, the Sidebar Modules plugin can now be properly activated (no fatal error).

But every time I try to add a new module through the drag-and-drop interface by hitting the Add button, I get shown the theme switcher page back one level up, rather than seeing the new module placed in the chosen sidebar within the d&d interface. As suggested above in Wim's and related comments, I also have deleted other K2 versions in my themes folder, to no avail though: please notice that Wim's solution hasn't worked here in spite of seemingly identical plights.

Thanks for any hints.

Belatedly (and prompted by the release of 2.3), thanks for this little gem of a plugin. Disabling widgets ought to be an option; no widget is ever perfect, and I think it detracts from the individuality of sites.

Your plugin allows me to hand-craft my site the way I want, so long may it work!
