Bruins sign Kessel, humor follows

I’d been away on a family gathering in Iowa when the news came out about the now former Golden Gopher, Phil Kessel, signing with the Boston Bruins. My reaction is late and not steeped in too much thought. I follow Gopher hockey as much as I can during the season, but I didn’t see all that many games (in part because I don’t get Fox Sports Net) so I haven’t formed that much of an opinion on Kessel, his ability or what this loss will truly mean for the team.

Judging from SI.com’s Allan Muir‘s take, all parties will benefit from this signing. I’ll defer any judgment on the topic and let the professional writer guide me here. Which brings me to the aforementioned article. Nice bit of writing if you ask me. I was chuckling along and then I had a serious bout of laughter when I came upon this gem.

And man, what a game he has. Speed rules the New NHL, and Kessel is so fast the French want a urine sample.

Made my day.
