Back in February I wrote a post about spam (or the lack thereof) that hits this little blog. Matt Mullenweg was kind enough to drop a note about the topic of WordPress.com blogs and those that are using WordPress.com driven blogs for the sole purpose of using it for Akismet.
Suffice it to say, I am now a WordPress.com Akismet parasite, but I can hardly feel bad about it. Akismet has been opened up to folks that want the API key but don’t need a blog on WordPress.com. A move to Akismet wouldn’t have even crossed my mind, but I noted that Dr Dave was going to phase out his WordPress development activities. So, I might as well hook myself up with a new spam deterent if SK2 was not going to be able to keep up with spammers. Thanks Dr Dave and your work on SK2 on behalf of bloggers everywhere. Just wish I had some spam to stop! A paltry sum, I’m sure.
